Welcome to Year 4

In Year 4, you will find Miss Fowler, Miss Hill, Miss Elkes, Mrs Clarke and Miss Wheeler.

We have an exciting year planned which starts with our weekly swimming sessions. These are on Tuesday mornings; don't forget your kit (including your swimming costume, towel and swimming hat) as well as your £1.

Miss Fowler’s class with have outdoor PE on Thursdays.

Miss Hill’s class with have outdoor PE on Mondays.

As the weather is getting colder, make sure you have tracksuit bottoms, a sweatshirt and appropriate footwear (trainers). Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school from Monday to Friday as we may do additional PE sessions.

Literacy and Maths homework will be given to the children on Mondays and it is expected to be handed on Fridays. Spelling and times tables tests will take place on a Friday afternoon. There may also be creative homework tasks set throughout the year which we hope the whole family will get involved in

Children are expected to read at least five times each week, with an adult commenting once a week, and hand in their Reading Challenge books every Friday. It is helpful if the children can bring these everyday so that we can write a comment when we read with them.
